Local link support line for Moycullen

Local link support line for Moycullen Forbairt Pobail Mhaigh Cuilinn, the Moycullen Community Development Association, is launching a Local link telephone support service for people who are affected by the Covid-19 emergency.

 The service will provide information on accessing local services, including businesses that make home deliveries. It will provide assistance in accessing information online and the volunteers will be available to provide any help that they can to the public.

 The Local link will be contactable through the Community Office telephone at 091- 555626 and also by email at help@moycullen.net. Initially the service will operate from 10am- 12 noon, Monday to Friday but this will be reviewed as the service progresses. Speaking of the new service, Irene Cummins of the Moycullen Community Development Association said: “We will be strictly adhering to all HSE guidelines and safety procedures and we will not be in direct contact with any member of the community, rather we will be directing people to the relevant recognized group who are responsible for each particular service. We will also have a strict confidentiality code in place so that the public can have full confidence in the service.”

 Moycullen Community Development Association are also contributing 5,000 euro towards a local support fund and a similar amount has been donated by a local resident. Further contributions will also be welcome. This fund will be administered by the local support group Cruinniú and the Saint Vincent de Paul.

 Séamus Ó Céide, the Manager of the Development Association commented: “We are delighted with the widespread support we are receiving across all sections of the community, which shows the desire to support each other through these difficult times. Ní neart go cur le chéile.”
