Moycullen St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Moycullen St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee/ Coiste Paráid lá Fhéile Pádraig Mhaigh Cuilinn The second Paráid Lá Fhéile Pádraig in Maigh Cuilinn was a resounding success. Over 50 floats representing commercial companies, sporting and social organisations, local community groups etc. took part. The colourful floats and the vibrancy of the marching groups livened up a cold but dry day. A large number of spectators lined the route and they thoroughly enjoyed the spectacle. Bhí balúin agus stiallbhratacha ar fud an tsráidbhaile agus bhí an t-atmaisféar féiltiúil i rith an deireadh seachtaine. Bhí seisiúin ceoil ar an dá ardán agus sna tithe tábhairne i gcaitheamh an lae. This year, the entries were creative and amusing and after great deliberation the judges chose the following: Best ‘Overall’ Entry: Mike Joyce Connemara Marble, Best Float: Lealetter/Gort Uí Lochlainn Community with ‘Galloping Burger’ Best ‘Entry’ by a Club/Organisation: Bootleggers Line Dancing Club Flóta/Iontráil ‘Gaeilge’ is fearr: Cumann…

St. Patrick’s Day Parade Paráid Lá Fhéile Padraig
Plans are well advanced for the 2nd Moycullen St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday 17th March. The parade will commence at Sweeney’s Service Station, (Clifden side of village) at 2pm and finish at An Fuarán Car Park. We aim to have an even bigger and better turnout than our very successful first parade last year. Beidh ceol agus craic ar feadh an trathnóna. We urge businesses, community groups and organisations to join us in the parade. Parade applications forms are now available at Dooley’s, The Forge, Tony’s Café and the Community Office or from committee members. Bígí linn. McCann’s SuperValu has kindly agreed to be the main sponsor again this year. There is no charge to enter a float/group but a small donation would be appreciated to defray costs. The parade will be launched in The Forge on Friday 8th March at 9pm. Members of last year’s winning groups will be…
